Back in Buenos Aires! December 1, 2009

The International Antarctic Treaty Expedition has been a great success!  I had a fantastic experience and can’t wait to tell everyone about it.

I’m now back in Buenos Aires, a full 25°C warmer than when I got off the ship yesterday at the bottom of Argentina.  This, and the vibrant colours of the capital, has underscored that our time on the White Continent is now over.  But as you’ve read, this is just the beginning.

I’ll be back in Oxford at the end of next week and will be gathering my thoughts in preparation for lots of talks early in 2010.  I’ll make sure you know the details so you can hear all about it, seeing both what we did and what you can do.  As you will have gathered from the story so far, there’s both the exciting story of our adventure and the important message of how we can help protect Antarctica from such a great distance.

For those not in Oxford, I may also be doing some presentations in London, and I’m following up on some radio and TV requests — details to follow.  For those further afield, I’ll be puting some photos, videos, and a journal on this blog.

For now, though, it’s off to the jungles of Paraguay for a week!

Looking forward to the talks! Would you be willing to come to New College to give a chat? And did you bring a penguin back with you?

I like the penguin in the background.
